Start of a Movement

Its over! And despite a late start, missing bands, and electricity failure – I think it was a success. Music was great. By some estimates about 13,000 people turned up (we had expected 500 or so) as did many of the last Caretaker Government Advisers, celebs and “civil” society leaders.

Even if our message got through to a small portion of the crowd I think we’ve made a start. It is now up to us to take this spark and light a fire.

Thank you everyone who came, supported, advised, encouraged, helped and inspired us.

Elvis Presley once said “A live concert … is exciting because of all the electricity that is generated in the crowd and on stage.” Take Back Bangladesh concert was full of that electricity, which was flowing amongst the crowds, and I am sure the organizers felt it too. I certainly did.

Now this electricity should be channeled to all other major cities of Bangladesh. There should be more concerts in Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet.

I wish the organizers best of luck.

I agree that there need to be more concerts. At least one every week in a different district town in order to make it clear that this is a nationwide grassroots movement.

Hope that it does not turn out to be a second front of AL. Some known AL sympathizer behind that veil of "Shushil Shomaj" can be seen in the concert... Good Luck TBB unless the last letter is not "Bangladesh Awami League"

kudoz kudoz and kudoz.

Atlast the people are rising. rising for their rights. and TBB seems to take that rising to a completely different altitude.

I salute your attempts for a better Bangladesh.

OK, so this is nitpicking, but shouldn't it be, "Phiriye NAO Bangladesh"?
